7) Neither Rain Nor Snow Day - on this date in 1914 the New York City Post Office was opened and an inscription appeared on the side of the building "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds." Most people think this is the official motto of the post office but it isn't. Hug your mail carrier today and wish them Happy Neither Rain Nor Snow Day and see if they know what you mean.....wonder how many don't?
8) Rosh Hashanah begins at sundown. Wish a Jewish friend a happy holiday.
9) Teddy Bear Day - have a party for your favorite little stuffed buddy and invite his friends over.
10) T.V. Dinner Day - celebrate the date of the very first TV dinner being made by Swanson on this day in 1954. Make a TV dinner and eat it on a tray in the living room in front of the TV watching your favorite show. The first TV dinners cost $.98 and were either Salisbury steak, meatloaf, fried chicken or turkey and came with potatoes and green peas. Wow have they came a long way!

28) Ask a Stupid Question Day - this must be my holiday cause I'm always saying, "Can I ask a stupid question?"
29) Banned Books Week - The American Library Association has a list of books that are banned from book stores and libraries and schools. Why not locate a banned book and read it this week. Need a list? Check here : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_most-commonly_challenged_books_in_the_United_States
30) Safety Pin Day - the safety pin actually dates back to the 14th century BC and was used by the Mycenaeans, it looked a lot like our modern day safety pin and was used pretty much the same way we use it. It was later reinvented by an American inventor named Walter Hunt who patented his invention in April, 1849. Remember when safety pins were used as jewelry and fashion statements?
Hope you enjoy these little known holidays. Let me know if you do any of them and how you celebrated the ones you choose!
Until Next Week, Dear Ones, Love & Many Hugz! Leeza
