STEVES CORNER(sageorge.writer@gmail.com )

Farewell Message

This is the last edition of Steve's Corner. I believe that the concept has run its course. I need more time to concentrate my attention on my poetry, short fiction, and narratives for which I returned to college. This is my passion and sending out manuscripts to publishers can be very time-consuming. I weighed my options carefully and even considered writing a new column under a new title with new ideas, but I think it is best to end it while I still have stories to tell, instead of long after I have run out. As I am primarily a fiction writer, I also toyed with the idea of serializing a gay-themed comic novel. I may do this in the future, but it is not the time for that yet. I will continue as managing editor for Queer News for a few week longer, but for the next few months at least, my writing will be confined to my MySpace blog at http://blog.myspace.com/dyingofpoetry.

I appreciate the opportunity to write for a web site which is significant to our community and, as I have indicated, I may do so again in the future. I also appreciate the encouragement and positive feedback I have received. I am flattered that so many readers have voted my column their favorite month after month and I am also humbled by the other writers for Queer News who manage to amaze more and more each week. Feel free to send an e-mail my way anytime.

Love,
